Kuldeep Yadav says plan for Handscomb worked like a charm

After claiming the wicket of the set David Warner, Kuldeep laid a trap for Peter Handscomb and was rewarded when the Aussie walked right into it.

"Obviously I worked a lot on my variations be it the wrong one, flipper and the normal chinaman. For Handscomb I set up the plan. I showed him the wrong one first, and then bowled him with the chinaman," Kuldeep said after the match, reported IANS.

India's first chinaman ended his very first innings in Test cricket with the impressive figures of 4/68, claiming the wickets of Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins as well. The youngster said how it was a dream-come-true for him and his battle with the nerves ahead of the day's play.

"I am very happy. It is a dream come true for me. In a Test match you can't ask for more than this," Kuldeep added.

"Initially I was nervous when I was standing at fine leg in the first over. But then it felt normal for me. I have improved my fitness levels, which helped me with my bowling."

When asked about the wicket at Dharamsala, Kuldeep said, "The wicket was good to bat on, the ball was not turning much. There was a little bit of help for the spinners. I bowled just wicket to wicket and variations."

The Test is evenly poised after Day 1 with Australia leading by 300 runs, but on a batsman-friendly wicket, one would not bet against India to make a game out of it tomorrow.
