Mumbai Indians snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they defended a score of 130 runs, denying Rising Pune Supergiant their maiden IPL title by 1 run. However, the Twitterati were more interested in Jaydev Unadkat's one-handed catch and Steve Smith's innings that eventually went in vain.

Brief Scores: Mumbai Indians 129/8 (Krunal Pandya 47; Rohit Sharma 24; Jaydev Unadkat 2/19, Adam Zampa 2/32) beat Rising Pune Supergiant 128/6 (Ajinkya Rahane 44, Steve Smith 51; Mitchell Johnson 3/26, Jasprit Bumrah 2/26) by 1 run.

Here are the best tweets from the game:

Before we begin, this statement is a perfect way to celebrate a Legend

Perfect way to start an IPL final - Stunner from Unadkat

And then, Mumbai collapsed - these kids could have performed better than MI batsmen

And Pollard, especially!

Mumbai were rescued thanks to Krunal, which raised this point

Krunal does look like the guy in this ad - hope he gets lucky too

Dhoni fans were happy because of Krunal

And some other fans were thankful that Krunal made a match of the final

On the other hand, what a wonderful story the Indian bowlers for RPS have been

Special mention to Unadkat - this stat speaks for itself

Cricket apart, this statement is GOLD!

Not fair, Rohit.

But then Krunal did this after a few overs when Rahane was batting

Not sure if the Pune team got this message

In retrospect, maybe Dinda could have come in handy today!!!

To end it, somewhere a certain Srini Mama would be awaiting this

Parthiv is all about appealing!

Follow this steps and become a legend (for the Indian team)!

When you're afraid to make a prediction and the whole nation is listening!

The Aussie surprise!

International Premier League!

Because stuff like this just doesn't happen every day!

Mumbai achieve the impossible!

From hero to villain!!!

No argument there!
