VIDEO | Kagiso Rabada's horrible delivery ends up in the hands of the point fielder

No one can deny the fact that South African players tend to give more than what they are normally capable of when they face the Australians. Their history of controversies got the most steam when a travelling Australia had resorted to annoying antics during the Test series before the competition blew out of proportion with the sandpaper gate.

While it was the Australians who had everything to lose following that incident, it would be fair to assume that things would never be the same between them. And though the recently-concluded tour of South Africa was pretty much one-sided, both the teams had extra motivation to outdo each other. After winning the ODI series 2-1, South Africa wanted to finish things off in the best way possible by winning the only T20I.

The effort was visible in Kagiso Rabada’s bowling when the pacer's extra-efforted delivery saw the ball slip from his hand. With a heavy downpour already reducing the 20-over match to 10, the hosts were in a slaughtering mode. Before the penultimate over of the first innings, the Kangaroos were at 66/6 and needed one last big over when Rabada came to bowl.

He was fairly successful in his first two balls limiting Maxwell and Nathan Courter-Nile to two singles before the incident happened. His third ball, which looked destined to have been a foot-breaking yorker, saw the ball slip from Rabada's hands when he was just about to deliver. It went to the fielder at the point with the umpires declared it dead after long discussions. 

The batsman, Maxwell, however, looked annoyed as he was demanding a no-ball that has normally been the case in such situations. Last year in August, Pat Cummins had a similar experience during a Test match against Bangladesh and umpire Nigel Llong had deemed it a no-ball.
