Jharkhand’s Shahbaz Nadeem etched his name in the List A cricket record books picking up a staggering eight wickets for just 10 runs, bowling four maiden overs in the process. The previous record was held by Delhi's Rahul Sanghvi, who claimed 8/15 against Himachal Pradesh during the 1997-98 season.

Jharkhand’s Shahbaz Nadeem broke List A cricket’s record with eight wickets from 10 runs in the Vijay Hazare match against Rajasthan at the TI Cycles Ground, in Chennai on Thursday. At one point, Rajasthan were seven down and all wickets belonged to Nadeem before Rajasthan were bowled out for just 73 runs in 28.3 overs.

Nadeem, who has been in contention for a spot in the Indian team for a while now, recorded bowling figures in List A Cricket bettering Sanghvi's 8/15 for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh in the 1997-98 season. Sanghvi appeared in just one Test for India, back in 2001 against Australia.

29-year-old Nadeem has played 99 First-Class matches, and has taken  375 wickets at a rate of 29.74. The Delhi Daredevil cricketer has amassed a total of 124 wickets at the List A level in 87 games besides 89 wickets in 109 T20s.

The veteran spinner has been a consistent performer for Jharkhand in all the formats, which also includes the four-day Ranji Trophy tournament as well. Nadeem also played a part in India A’s tour which was played in England and also the home series against Australia A.
