Accoring to the latest development reported by Asian News International (ANI), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to organise a closing ceremony for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The board was forced to cancel closing ceremonies in each of the last three seasons due to rising cases of the coronavirus in the country.
"BCCI is working on the plan to have a closing ceremony this year. We are discussing having a closing ceremony this year after the final match in Ahmedabad. We want to bring back the colour of IPL so you might see the closing ceremony," a BCCI source told ANI.
The 15th edition of the IPL are being played in Maharashtra across four different venues, with Mumbai and Pune being host cities. There were limited number of spectators inside stadiums due to Coovid-19 concerns. The Playoff fixtures, as per multiple reports including the Times of India (TOI), are going to take place in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, but the dates are yet to be decided.
