India are in the driver's seat of the first Test match as they managed to cross the 400-run mark after some brilliant batting from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. England were all over India in the first session of the match as they smashed as India were down to 98-5. It was on Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja to bail the team out of that situation and they did just that. Both batters scored magnificent centuries to make sure India was back in the game.

On the second day of the match, India lost Ravindra Jadeja after he scored his century and it felt like India would not cross the 400 run-mark. But, the newly appointed skipper Jasprit Bumrah was at his best with the bat as he smashed Stuart Broad all around the ground. The incident occurred in the 83rd over of the game when Jasprit Bumrah took on Broad from ball one. The first ball of the over was a four as Bumrah hooked the ball in the gap and got a boundary. The next ball was wide and went to the fence resulting in 5 runs which was followed by another short ball that took the top edge of Bumrah's bat and sailed over the keeper's head. To add salt to Broad's misery, it was declared a no-ball.
After this, Broad attempting to ball a yorker gifted Bumrah a high full toss which the Indian captain dispatched to the fence through mid-on for a four. Jasprit Bumrah got another boundary on the very next ball as well. The most entertaining shot of the overcame on the fourth ball of the over where Bumrah seemed to channelled his inner Rishabh Pant as he swung his bat to smash Broad for another four and in the process fell over. This was followed by a six on the next ball leaving Stuart Broad only with a smile to hide his agony. During his stay at the crease, Bumrah scored 29 from 14 balls.
