As per the report by Times of India, Shah said, “ They have asked us if we would conduct the World Cup. I have categorically said no.”
Shah further added, “ We're in the monsoon and on top of that we will host the Women's ODI World Cup next year. I don't want to give any kind of signal that I want to hold consecutive World Cups.”
The ICC has been contemplating moving the Women's T20 World Cup due to recent violence and security issues in Bangladesh. The country has experienced considerable unrest following anti-government protests, which have led to multiple deaths and the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's administration.
Bangladesh is encountering substantial obstacles in its attempt to host the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup. Severe travel warnings from key cricketing nations such as England, Australia, and India, prompted by security concerns, present a major challenge for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
According to a recent ESPNcricinfo report, an ICC official stated earlier this week that the situation in Bangladesh is being closely monitored, and all possible options for the tournament's location are still under consideration. The official stated, “ The ICC is closely monitoring developments in coordination with the BCB, their security agencies and our independent security consultants.”
