IPL 2024 | Twitter reacts to Chahal’s hilarious lying down catching to remove Prabhsimran

A few cricketers are popular for their performance and legacy while a few, in the age of the social media trends, gained popularity with their performance and on-field antics. Rajasthan Royals’ Yuzvendra Chahal made catching look easy by lying down and grabbing the ball to send Prabhsimran packing.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first did not yield desirable results for Rajasthan Royals as their top order was removed inside the eight overs, followed by a middle-overs collapse. However, local boy Riyan Parag’s fighting 48 helped them reach 144 before Trent Boult’s new ball attack coupled with Chahal’s fielding antics drew first blood for the home side.

Having already extracted a four off the third ball of the second innings by shimmying down the ground and lofting over mid-on, Prabhsimran tried to continue the attacking intent, only to realize it wouldn’t work against Boult. The immediate next ball saw the left-arm quick drag the length around the good length area and nibbled the ball into the right-hander who tried to pull at it.

Prabhsimran ended up losing shape on the attempt and got a top-edge flying behind short third man where Chahal was spotted back peddling and uncannily taking a reverse cup. The leggie actually trembled on his back before grasping the ball, leaving the Twitterverse in laughs at his antics.
