"In my mind, from the last World Cup, I was retired but then we qualified for the Champions Trophy and I felt if I could play that, it would be great," Nabi told the host broadcaster after the third ODI….We will see, but no, I will not play for long. God willing, after the Champions Trophy, we will say goodbye to the ODIs," Nabi said.
The 39-year-old has been an integral part of the Afghanistan team, having captained them in the 2015 World Cup and being a part of the next couple of editions. Having accumulated 3600 runs in 167 innings at an average of 27.48, the 39-year-old is their second-highest run-getter in the particular format after Rahmat Shah. Following the Champions Trophy, Nabi would only be considered as an active International player in the T20 format.
