Premier League club Manchester United have been given a green light by Ed Woodward to launch a bid for Juventus midfielder Emre Can. The midfielder has been outcasted by Maurizio Sarri and has revealed that Can doesn’t feature in any of his long term plans and is free to search for new clubs.

According to English outlet Mirror, Manchester United have been given permission to sign Emre Can from Juventus. Can has struggled for playing time under Maurizio Sarri, managing just one start in Serie A this season. The former Liverpool midfielder was also left out of Juventus’ squad for the Champions League group stage, sparking speculation over his future. The German was disturbed by the exclusion and warned the club of leaving if the situation doesn’t improve.

Manchester United are looking for options in midfield with their star Paul Pogba reportedly keen to leave Old Trafford. The Red Devils are also chasing Leicester City’s James Maddison and LOSC Lille’s Boubakary Soumare. Emre Can presents a reliable option to Manchester United who can operate anywhere across the midfield, giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plenty of options.

With Sarri declaring Can surplus to requirements, the Old Lady will allow Can to leave in the January transfer window but United will face competition for his signature. France and Germany champion Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also in pursuit of the 25 year old ace. Mirror's report further added that Juventus are willing to listen to offers in the range of €35 million for Can and with plenty of Premier League experience, the Old Trafford club won’t be hesitant to pay the sum. The former Bayer Leverkusen man had made 37 appearances last season for the Scudetto winners.
