PSG was one of our secret options, reveals Mauro Icardi's agent

Mauro Icardi was linked to several clubs during this summer transfer window, with Juventus being the most likely destination for the player. The striker had a fallout with everyone at Inter, including the coach, board and even the fans, and he spent the last half of last season in exile.

According to Goal, Wanda Nara, Icardi's wife and agent, had an ace up her sleeve this whole time in case the player's first options didn't materialise. In the end, after moves to Manchester United, Juventus, AS Roma and Napoli fell apart, Icardi made the shock move to France's capital.

"If I waited until the last moment, it's because I had an ace up my sleeve. Nobody knew, not even the kids. Mauro packed a small suitcase and left the rest to me. The kids go to school in Italy, so we'll live between Milan and Paris. Of the three options we had, PSG was the worst for me, because I have to go back to live in Milan with the kids. But I thought of what was best for him. There were many important Italian clubs who wanted him and it would've been easier," admitted Nara to Goal.

It remains to be seen how Thomas Tuchel will adapt the 26-year-old alongside Edinson Cavani as the Uruguayan fills the spot for the main striker on the team. But with Cavani injured, it does allow Icardi to show just what he can, which just happens to be scoring a lot of goals. His spell at Inter Milan proved that with 124 goals in 219 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
