Lionel Messi received a personal invite from Joan Laporta for Barcelona's 125th anniversary event. Even after some strained relations between them, when Laporta failed to keep his contract renewal promise in 2021, Messi is expected to be a part of the event.

Lionel Messi is reported to attend the 125th Anniversary event of Barcelona, which will take place at the Licue Theater on 29 November. Although it was previously not confirmed whether he has been invited or not, Joan Laporta has now sent a personal invite to the team's favourite player to attend the event.

The relationship between Joan Laporta and Lionel Messi was not good when Laporta failed to keep his promise of a contract renewal for Argentina in 2021. Messi had been a part of the team since the year 2000, joining them as a 13-year-old. He took no time to rise up in the ranks and make his place in the senior team in 2004.

Lionel Messi has won the Ballon d'Or eight times and has also been among the best players in the world. He was a part of the team till the summer of 2021. In the same year, he had to leave the club as the manager failed to keep his promise for contract renewal due to financial issues.

He joined Paris Saint-Germain and since then, it was said that his relationship with Joan Laporta is not good. However, Laporta sent a personal invite to Lionel Messi, the team's World Cup winner, to be a part of the 125th anniversary celebration.
