Gaganjeet Bhullar ends Saudi International tournament at tied-34th

Gaganjeet Bhullar’s campaign in the inaugural edition of the Saudi International golf tournament came to a rather disappointing end over the weekend. Bhullar ended the international competition at tied-34th after he registered a score of an even-par 70 on the fourth and final day in Jeddah on Sunday.

Bhullar, who was India’s sole player to make the cut for the main draw, hit the ball very well and gave himself a lot of chances on the final but failed to make the most of the greens over the four days of the tournament. From being two-under through the first five holes, the Indian golfer ended even par 70 and finished four-under for the week.

Meanwhile, American golfer and world number three, Dustin Johnson, pulled off a thrilling birdie-birdie finish to be crowned as a two-shot winner in the first edition of the Saudi International. Johnson had a score of three-under 67, while Li Haotong who finished second had four eagles in the third round, including three on the back nine, with a score of 69. In doing so, Li edged out Tom Lewis (65) who had to settle for the third place.

“Anytime you win a golf tournament, it feels great.I have enjoyed myself and I hope to come back to defend my title,” Johnson told reporters after he secured his first European tour win.
