Bopanna and Kubot defeated Briton Dominic Inglot and Swede Robert Lindstedt 6-3, 7-6 (4) in 80 minutes. The Indo-Polish pair, who got a bye in the first round, broke their opponents in the fourth game to win the opening set comfortably. The second set ran on serve, and Bopanna-Kubot won the tie-breaker to seal the match.
Paes and Peers succumbed to Daniel Nestor of Canada and Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin for the second time in two weeks, following their first round exist at the China Open.
