The top seeded Indo-Swiss pair broke their seventh seeded opponents in the second game and in the sixth game to clinch the first set.
In the second set, the Czech pair broke Mirza and Hingis early on in the fourth game to make the score 1-3, but soon conceded their lead when they were broken by the Indo-Swiss pair in the seventh game making the score 3-4 and then again in the ninth game. With the scores at 5-4, the Indo-Swiss duo comfortably closed out the game.
Mirza, incidentally, had won the tournament in 2014, when she partnered Zimbabwe’s Cara Black to defeat Hsieh Su-Wei (Chinese Taipei) and Peng Shuai (China) 6-1, 6-0 in the finals.
Mirza forged her partnership with Hingis in March 2015 and since then the duo has won eight tournament titles together, which includes a streak of four tournaments on the trot, the last being the China Open held in Beijing.
