BGT | Twitter roars as Indian and Oz fans start battles of their own in MCG stands
A quality cricket match is no less than a theatrical experience. Whenever India have toured down under in the past six years, the competition has been top-notch and the passionate fans at the MCG felt the heat of the rivalry as they engaged in huge roars as Virat Kohli walked out to bat.
In reply to Australia's 474 runs first innings total, India got off to a poor start as Rohit Sharma perished early, courtesy of a false shot induced by Pat Cummins. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal was smooth with his strokeplay along with KL Rahul. But Cummins' disciplined bowling earned the scalp of Rahul, making way for Virat Kohli. As the former Indian captain arrived at the crease, the MCG crowd seemed divided, prompting a fan war between India and Australian fans.
Having faced six deliveries and already opened the account, Kohli tried to set himself up for scoring options against Scott Boland. This is when the camera captured the sea of fans at the MCG divided. The Indian group at one end cheered for Kohli who was on strike while the home fans responded with huge boos at the Indian captain. Seeing the contest delve beyond bat and ball, the Twitterverse didn't hesitate to take a leaf out of the intense actions.

Difficult
It's very difficult to live in a house where all your family members are fans of Virat Kohli, but you're a only fan of Babar Azam, and you have to support him 24/7, no matter what.unko stats bata bata kar ab tu sary stats bhi ratt gaye han 😭🙏😭
— FATIMA (@Fatimaikba5617)
Very strong
If both Jaiswal and Kohli see out the day without getting out, India will be in a very strong position heading into day 3. India has to breach 400 in 1st innings to have a good shot at victory in this match.

Peak
Kohli was at the peak of his ego when he bumped in to Konstas. But his leaning back for a pleasing pull indicates he has backed down and is back to business.
