In the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, England captain Harry Kane is treating the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup (FCWC) as a key scouting opportunity. Bayern Munich, his current club, will compete in the expanded tournament set for June, giving Kane a chance to gain experience against global teams.

Kane highlighted the significance of playing in major U.S. stadiums a year before the World Cup, calling it a "great experience" to adapt to different environments. Bayern’s most anticipated FCWC matchup will be against Argentina’s Boca Juniors, a club known for its passionate fanbase and competitive history. Kane acknowledged the challenge but expressed excitement about playing in Miami, emphasizing the importance of exposure to different football cultures.

The revamped FCWC features 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four, with the top two advancing to the knockout rounds—mirroring the World Cup format. Alongside Bayern and Boca Juniors, clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, River Plate, Juventus, and UAE’s Al Ain will compete.

Al Ain qualified after winning the AFC Champions League, defeating Al Nassr and ending Al Hilal’s record streak. Kane remains confident in Bayern’s chances, stating, “We’re one of the best teams in the world,” and reaffirming their ambition to win the inaugural edition of the tournament.
