LSG vs CSK | Twitter gets nostalgic as MS Dhoni rolls back years with 101 meter six

There is nothing in sport that makes fans’ emotions pour out than something nostalgic taking place in the game. In the game between Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings, fans at the Ekana stadium were left in awe as MS Dhoni smashed a 101 meter six off Yash Thakur to give CSK a great finish.

Having asked Chennai to wield the willow first, Lucknow came out of box firing to send both Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad packing inside the powerplay. Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane stabilised the innings with the former staying put despite wickets falling at the other end. On the fifth ball of the 18th over as Moeen Ali was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi, Ekana erupted with joy - not for the wicket but for who was walking out to bat.

After a single on the last ball of the over, Dhoni unleashed on Mohsin Khan with a four and a SKY-esque six to have his score read a cool 12 off five deliveries. While that would have been enough for the crowd, Dhoni had something else up his sleeves as well. With Jadeja scoring three off the first two balls, Dhoni finally took strike against Yash Thakur and no one could have expected what was to follow.

Bowling round the wicket, Thakur made the mistake of balling the ball in the slot for the Chennai keeper and as Dhoni swung his bat, the ball seemed to keep going and going. The broadcasters announced that the ball had crossed the 100-meter mark much to the delight of the Twitteratti.
