Tim David waits for Josh Hazelwood to return from the dressing room

In rain curtailed games, it is a common practice for players to hurry up in order to force the completion of the game. When Tim David smashed Harpreet Brar for a six on the last ball of the innings, Hazelwood was quick to run back to the dressing room only to return owing to the bowler’s no ball.

Having won the toss and elected the bowl first, Punjab grabbed control of the game and restricted RCB to just RCB 63/9 in 12 overs. After Tim David smashed Xavier Bartlett for 11 in the penultimate over, the Aussie needed a grandstand finish to get his bowlers something to bowl at. He started with three dot balls against Harpreet Brar but followed them up with three sixes to get RCB to 92 in the 14 overs. As soon as the last delivery ended up in the stands, Hazelwood ran off to get ready to play his part in the game with the ball.

However, as the Punjab players were walking off, the siren signally a no ball rang in the Chinnaswamy. As Brar got ready to bowl the final delivery, all eyes turned to David, with a smile on his face, who appeared to be waiting for Hazelwood to return from the dressing room. As the pacer returned, the teammates shared a smile as David took his mark.

Twitter was quick to notice this and have their say on the matter.
