One throw from the bullet arm of Ravindra Jadeja is potentially enough to take a life, a threat Chris Brown was accidentally under for a moment in Cuttack on Sunday. The umpire shared a wholesome moment with the Indian veteran on the field after ending up in his way while a run-out was on the cards.

Half-centuries from Ben Duckett and Joe Root alongwith valuable contributions from the rest of the batting unit took England to a competitive total of 304 after opting to bat first in the second ODI against India. The Men in Blue let several opportunites slip earlier in the game to restrict the visitors in what is historically a high-scoring ground, including a potential miss from Ravindra Jadeja late in the game albeit through little fault of his own.

On the first ball of the 46th over, Axar Patel's widish delivery was met with a cut from Liam Livingstone, hoping to pierce thhe gap near point. Jadeja as always was quick on his feet to keep the Kookaburra from going beyond the circle and an opportunity for a run-out opened up with the batters scampering for a single. However, just as the veteran picked up the ball and raised his arm in one smooth motion to shape up for a throw, a slight slip was followed by a sudden jerk to stop the throwing action. Square leg umpire Chris Brown had not flinched from his position amidst all this chaos and was directly in line with the stumps from Jadeja's perspective, meaning the throw could have left him seriously injured.

Jadeja appeared slightly agitated at first as he questioned the umpire but his face quickly broke into a grin and sheeepish laughter as the duo shared a wholesome interaction. Twitterati as always was thoroughly entertained despite the incident having potentially cost India a crucial wicket.
